Hendersonville, NC Wedding Photography | Grand Highlands | David + Jerrika
From our first meeting with David and Jerrika we knew there was definitely something special about these two! Their love for each other is so strongly evident when they are together!
Loved ones came from far and wide to celebrate David and Jerrika in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains that they love so much and where Jerrika calls home!
They say in North Carolina that rain on your wedding day is good luck and after David and Jerrika’s wedding day last Saturday, we believe this statement to be absolutely true!
There is something about being on top of a mountain that brings such a beautiful peace and new assurance to any situation! Perhaps it’s the fact you see the world below in a different perspective, but a mountain top definitely offers something different and unique! David and Jerrika were the essence of joy and peace as a huge storm front rolled in and didn’t clear up until 30 minutes before their outdoor ceremony was set to start.
This beautiful couple had given us a DREAM timeline to work with, however when the sky let loose exactly at the time we had scheduled their First Look, no one panicked and everyone just rolled with the weather!
When the skies started to clear about 30 minutes before the ceremony we gathered together to make a plan! Jerrika still really wanted to do the First Look, so she decided to delay her ceremony an hour so she and Dave would be able to spend these precious moments together. Can we just say again how much we LOVE First Looks! We were also able to photograph some of the wedding party shots as well while the ceremony chairs were being dried off.
So while we photographed David and Jerrika’s first moments together, their amazing wedding guests socialized and waited patiently in the lodge until the time of the ceremony. Their wedding guests were AMAZING! No one worried about the delay, everyone was just so thrilled to be there and to see the sun shinning again! Everyone was so willing to make David and Jerrika’s wedding day perfect for them!!!
One of our favorite moments of the wedding day was when Jerrika’s beautiful Mama walked her down the aisle. It was such a surreal moment as she hugged her daughter one last time before giving her away.
The sun shone bright as David and Jerrika said their vows. Everyone marveled at the gorgeous mountains, the stunning couple, and the sunlight that arrived just in time!
David and Jerrika, there are no words to describe how amazing you both are! We feel so honored to have been able to capture your special day!
As we were finishing up portraits, the sun was setting and beautiful clouds and a soft fog weaved through the mountains! It was absolutely breathtaking!

Hendersonville, NC Wedding Photography | Jacob + Courtney
Jacob and Courtney are one of the sweetest couples we have ever met! From the first moment we had these two in front of our cameras, we literally couldn’t help but squeal with delight when Courtney’s beautiful vision for a snowy winter engagement session become such a gorgeous reality! It was a dream come true and we had an absolute blast with these two!
As we listened to Jacob & Courtney tell us their love story, more about their vision for their wedding day and the excitement they had for the future they were going to spend together, we could not help but get just as excited as they began their journey to becoming husband and wife!Anticipation for their special day was strong and the closer it got, the more we looked forward to being a part of the celebration! We kept our eye on the rainy forecast that was predicted and hoped all week that the rain would disappear, but it didn’t…. and you know what…. It was totally fine!Courtney remained calm even as she watched the rain pour down out the window during hair and makeup. She never even showed hesitation about moving her ceremony inside or the possibility of her dress getting wet and she embraced every change of plans beautifully! Everything came together stunningly and she trusted that we would still be able to get great shots just by capturing her day the way it unfolded! We were so honored! We cannot express how amazing it feels on a wedding day knowing that our bride and groom trust us so much to still provide them with beautiful pictures even when things do not go as planned!!From a small covering over a barn door to a short drive over to an open field when the rain would lighten up for short periods of time, we have to say everyone we worked with that day was AMAZING! You would never know by looking at the pictures that portrait time was limited in both time and space! We couldn’t have done it without Jacob, Courtney, their incredible bridal party, friends and family’s full support and help! The rain continued during the ceremony, through wedding party shots , and a few couple shots in front of the beautiful covered barn door, but we were all praying that the rain would stop before the sun set so we would have the ability to capture this stunning bride and groom in the soft golden field. We were so excited when just as the beautiful “golden hour” approached, the rain not only stopped, but the sun actually came out! We were so thankful Jacob and Courtney were willing to slip out of the reception for a few minutes as we captured them in the sunlight, just the two of them wrapped in each other’s arms while the crickets chirped and the birds sang. Enjoying the first few moments together as husband and wife!Thank you, Jacob and Courtney! It was such an honor to be a part of your special day!Vendors
