    2024 Year in Review

2024! What a year!! One we will never forget! We celebrated our 13th year in business and split our time between WNC and the Low Country of SC! We made a huge leap and our dreams came true and our prayers answered by opening our first studio and office space in March where we have been able to welcome our clients for studio sessions, in person meetings as well as open the doors to other photographers in the area to come and create! It was the year Crosby fully took over the Real Estate Media part of our business and almost doubled the bookings we typically have as well as filming 9 beautiful wedding days! We became official vendors for Marriott, had landscape prints purchased to be hung in Marriot’s Big Island property in Hawaii, worked in NC, SC, GA, FL, AZ, TX and even Greece!

With all the moments of celebration we also learned that joy and grief can co exist as we reflect on the past 365. On our 13th photography anniversary our home town in WNC was destroyed by Hurricane Helene putting our region in a state of emergency and living on survival mode as many didn’t know where our next food or clean water would come from. Our team members experienced completely loosing their homes and/or just trying to pick up the pieces of the damage that happened.

Our last quarter of the year went from fully booked to emails pouring in with cancellations before we even had power restored. The bookings that did decide to go on were so kind and gracious as we made alternative plans for locations and styles as the gravity of the situation sank in as we ventured out to check on our beloved locations only to find them washed away, closed off or unaccessible.

Our hearts are so full from the clients who still supported our small business in the midst of trying to piece together the damages from the storm to not loose our business as well. From the clients showing patience as plans changed, to the clients who so kindly donated supplies for us to distribute to those in need in our area, to those who reached out with prayers and encouragement, and the clients who had shared tears in their eyes as we all talked of our experiences and grief. Thank you! We always say one of our favorite parts of our job is the relational aspect of being invited into our clients lives to be apart of so many milestones, but we feel so blessed to have those relationships when we are experiencing the many ups and downs of life as well!!

From showing up to our open house at the launch of our photography studio, to celebrating with us as we announced that we were expecting our 2025 baby, to encouraging us through the natural disaster we appreciate you so so much!

ANDDDD without further ado…. a glimpse into the moments that made up 2024!

A look back on the Behind the Scenes of 2024!

February of 2024 – After a couple of years of looking for a space for an office/studio we finally Gave up and started looking at other options like building plans. That is until my dad drove by a for lease sign at the cutest cottage. As soon as I walked in I cried at how it was better than I could have ever imagined!

We Immediately started working on getting it set up and ready to open! I don’t think I’ve ever ordered so much on Amazon! Our grand opening was on 3/17 and we felt so humbled by everyone who came by to celebrate with us!

On one of my photo trips to the low country to work, I, (Meghan) started feeling odd. On my only night off I went to the beach for a picnic and watched the most amazing sunset! After I ran to the store to pick up a pregnancy test and found out I was pregnant! Crosby was working back up in NC so after keeping the secret for two whole days I told him to meet me at the studio as soon as I drove back into town so I could surprise him with a gift!

We are so blessed that despite any of the challenges pregnancy presented I was still able to work through our entire season, but the first trimester exhaustion is real and it wasn’t unusual to find me napping at the studio between meetings!

We excitedly announced our pregnancy in September and was so overwhelmed by everyone’s support and encouragement!

On September 27 (TFP’s 13th anniversary ) Hurricane Helene came in and destroyed our region. It was heartbreaking to see the beautiful place we called home experience so much destruction and loss.

We can’t describe the relief when the roads finally opened again and we were able to make it to the studio to check things out! We were so beyond blessed to have it completely unharmed. A GIANT pine tree fell out front, but by God’s grace it fell away from the building saving us from total loss!

In Late October we opened the doors of the studio to the children of the community for a fun Halloween Party to bring some levity to the local kids whose worlds and routines were so unsettled because of the storm!

Thank you for following along on our journey this year! We can’t wait to see what 2025 holds!
