Shelby, NC Wedding Photography | Trent + Morgan
At the end of a wedding day if you are married to the love of your life then your day was a success! This is one piece of advice we always share with our bride and groom before their big day! Our sweet couples leave the stress of making sure everything goes as planned behind and simply embrace the joy of becoming husband and wife!
Trent and Morgan are an amazing couple and their wedding day was an incredible one! These two focused on the goal and their joyful love was contagious in every circumstance!
After five years in the wedding industry, we can honestly say that Trent and Morgan’s ceremony was unlike anything we have ever experienced before! It had been raining off and on part of the day, but with the temperature close to 100 degrees, we weren’t surprised by a few pop up thunder showers that would quickly come and pass in a matter of minutes. No one worried too much as dark clouds rolled in about 30 minutes before the ceremony was planned to start. However, as the ceremony started there was an electrical storm like we have never seen before! The wedding party had already made it down the aisle, Morgan was just pulling up in a vintage truck and Trent was anxiously waiting to see his gorgeous bride, but with a gust of heavy wind, lightning started striking every few seconds, phones were going off with severe weather alerts and the heavens let loose with a big burst of rain!
Guests quickly made their way to an open tent and tried to wait out the storm. After about a half an hour went by, it was evident this severe summer storm was not going to pass. Everyone set to work to get all the guests moved inside and to gather anything they could! Church vans were brought in to shuttle guests to the reception venue, as the tractor they originally arrived on would no longer be a convenient way to travel. The groomsmen with such amazing servant hearts, directed traffic, helped guests to each vehicle and joined together as they pushed spinning vans out of red mud.
Everyone arrived to the reception venue safely and quickly began drying off, setting up and reassuring the bride and groom that their ceremony would indeed go on without another hitch and be just as beautiful!
The team from Carolina Roses was phenomenal! They managed to save every piece of the ceremony décor and set it up creating an incredible backdrop for Trent and Morgan’s new ceremony location. Friends and family as well as the wonderful staff at The Gingerbread Meeting House grabbed chairs to create an aisle for Morgan and her dad to walk down and wedding coordinator, Stacey Walker created a beautiful new order of ceremony!
The rain invited in an even more intimate ceremony and because everyone was huddled in close, the excitement was stronger and more present than most weddings we have had the honor of photographing.
About an hour later Trent and Morgan said “I do” with smiles on their faces and were pronounced husband and wife!
Everyone cheered and clapped and hugs were shared in celebration of such a wonderful event!
This may have not been anything like the vision this sweet couple had for their wedding day, but it didn’t steal their joy. They had one incredible celebration and it was BEAUTIFUL! Their friends and family partied the night away in the lovely Gingerbread Meeting House while the rain continued to come down. The storm even paused for a few minutes giving us a stunning sky and just enough light to photograph a few couple shots and wedding party portraits.
We hope you enjoy some of our favorite images from Trent and Morgan’s wedding day! Their hearts and hard work is so evidently seen in every detail of their day and we are so honored to have been able to capture it all as their wedding day unfolded!
We loved these precious moments during Morgan’s Daddy/Daughter First Look!
